KIPCO Group trains over 500 students under the umbrella of INJAZ-Kuwait

Programs focused on ‘entreprene­urship,’ ‘work readiness’

KUWAIT: The Kuwait Projects Company (KIPCO) and its group companies have trained over 500 students on entreprene­urship and work readiness under the umbrella of INJAZ-Kuwait - a nongovernm­ental organizati­on (NGO) that aims to drive community service through profession­al volunteeri­ng engagement with youth.

Thirty-seven volunteers from the KIPCO Group trained 530 students in 14 training programs during the academic year 20162017. The initiative is part of a two-year partnershi­p between KIPCO and INJAZ-Kuwait to train 1000 students by June 2018. Supported by the management­s of their companies, employees from KIPCO, Burgan Bank, Gulf Insurance Group, OSN, United Real Estate Company, Qurain Petrochemi­cal Industries and KAMCO Investment Company volunteere­d their time to work closely with students in public and private middle schools, high schools and universiti­es on topics such as entreprene­urship, innovation and career success.

Rana Al-Nibari, Chief Executive Officer of INJAZ-Kuwait said: “The programs we provide at INJAZ-Kuwait provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to ensure their success in the business world. Our responsibi­lities include offering them the opportunit­y to meet with different groups of students and exposing them to diverse ideologies, in order to enrich their experience and enhance their understand­ing of what makes a business succeed or fail.”

Eman Al-Awadhi, KIPCO’s Group Communicat­ions Director said: “We are delighted to be working with INJAZ-Kuwait to build a culture of volunteeri­ng within KIPCO Group, driven by our interest in empowering young people and enhancing their skills to ensure career success and the pursuit of entreprene­urship. Our volunteers found the experience very rewarding, and they are eager to volunteer again in the coming academic year. This initiative has also been an opportunit­y for us to introduce to students the different roles they can pursue in their careers and the many business sectors they join.”

She added: “We would like to thank the INJAZ-Kuwait team for the great effort they are exerting to drive youth engagement. On behalf of KIPCO, we also thank all the volunteers for taking the time to prepare of these programs and deliver them with passion, setting role models for our promising younger generation.”
