KIB sponsors 6th ‘My Ambition Defeats My Disability’ forum

Kuwait International Bank (KIB) recently sponsored the 6th ‘My Ambition Defeats My Disability’ forum, which was organized by the Committee for Persons with Disabilities, belonging to the National Union of Kuwaiti Students (NUKS), along with trainees from the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET). The forum was held under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education, Dr Mohammed Al Fares, Minister of Health, Dr Jamal Al-Harbi and Honorary Chairperson of Kuwait Disabled Sports Club (KDSC), Sheikha Sheikha AlAbdullah Al-Khalifa Al-Sabah, who also attended the event to lend her support.

The forum sought to shed light on the rights of people with disabilities, as well as the need to strengthen the role of ministries and government entities in responding to the causes of disabilities and working to prevent them. The forum also worked to promote scientific solutions in line with ongoing national programs within the Kuwait National Development Plan that are aimed to meet the various challenges faced by people with disabilities.

On this occasion, Fahad Al Sarhan, Team Leader of Corporate Communications at KIB, stated: “KIB is always keen on supporting initiatives that engage all segments of the community. We devote considerable attention to supporting people with disabilities, as we believe that they are an integral part of the community who are known for their strong will and their drive to achieve and excel. We pride ourselves on being fully invested in the development of different segments in the community.”

Al Sarhan added that the very title of the forum reflects the strength and will power of people with disabilities. He pointed out that their ambition allows them to overcome any challenges their disabilities may impose, driving them to achieve great successes, breaking records in various areas throughout history, and advancing Kuwait’s standing both regionally and on a global scale. As part of the Bank’s social responsibility program, KIB pays special attention to people with disabilities, as it believes in the importance of their role in supporting this segment. Accordingly, KIB continues to support initiatives and activities that serve this particular segment in the community, empowering them to defeat their disabilities and successfully achieve their goals in life.
