Burgan Bank brings ‘Drinking Water Week’ to Kuwait
KUWAIT: Burgan Bank, one of the highest contributors to sustainability and progress, is celebrating for the first time “Drinking Water Week”; a novel educational initiative aimed at raising awareness on the crucial benefits of water to health and wellness. ‘Drinking Water Week’, a globally celebrated event, takes place between May 1 to 7 every year as the summer season kicks off. Leading the way in corporate social responsibility, Burgan Bank distributed bottled water to its employees to encourage them to consume more water and promote healthy living, based on its strong-held belief that advocating for CSR starts with its own employees and extends to the society as a whole.
Drinking water, a small gesture with rewarding personal and societal benefits, is essential to maintaining a healthy body and mind. Water is credited for boosting energy levels and productivity, encouraging weight loss, flushing out toxins from the body, embellishing the skin, strengthening the immune system, preventing sickness and improving overall health.
This is one in a long series of activities Burgan Bank is undertaking as part of the Global Employee Health and Fitness Month to drive behavior change and foster a health-conscious culture that benefits all segments of society, starting with its employees first. Leading by example, Burgan Bank takes pride in being a catalyst for positive change across the board. More is to come as Burgan Bank rolls out more dynamic initiatives in the future.
Launching ‘Drinking Water Week” in Kuwait reflects Burgan Bank’s commitment to shedding light on new issues and bringing fresh thinking and creativity to address topical societal challenges that affect every member of the society. As a dynamic and young financial institution, Burgan Bank remains a pioneer by being among the first to attend to current challenges and providing solutions that will benefit future generations. Burgan Bank’s support of this initiative falls under its dynamic full-fledged community program entitled ‘ENGAGE’ - Together to be the change, which emphasizes on creating and supporting innovative initiatives that add value to every segment of the society. That is accomplished by promoting social welfare through educational, cultural, social and health driven movements. Burgan Bank’s approach to ‘ENGAGE’ begins with a vital principle that as a leading Kuwaiti financial institution, its conduct and policies should be aligned with the needs and interests of the Kuwaiti society and the community overall.
