Woman beaten by husband, stepson

A citizen and his son beat the citizen’s wife - a Gulf national - in her house. The woman went to Mubarak Hospital with bruises and grazes on her face to get a medical report. She then went to the police station and told them she was beaten by her husband and stepson because of previous disputes. Police are investigat­ing.

Theft

A Filipina domestic helper disappeare­d from her sponsor’s house with jewelry and five watches worth KD 2,500. The citizen, who lives in Salam, noticed her maid was missing. When she looked for her, she was nowhere to be found. She said that her passport, documents, jewelry and watches were missing. So she went to the police station and lodged a complaint. Detectives are working on the case.

Damage

Detectives are looking for a cabbie who deliberate­ly hit a citizen’s car and verbally insulted him before escaping. The citizen went to Nugra police station and told police he had a traffic dispute with the roaming taxi driver, so he rammed into his car, causing extensive damage, then escaped. The citizen gave police the license plate number of the taxi.

Assault

Two girls decided to settle their difference­s with an Iraqi woman by beating her in an area between the two Sulaibkhat graveyards, injuring her hand and face. The woman gave police details of the two girls including their phone numbers - one girl did not answer the call, while the second denied the Iraqi’s claims and said she cannot go to the police station. Detectives were asked to arrest them for questionin­g.

Police stopped two male youths dancing in Salmiya and found them under the influence of drugs. The two Kuwaitis were dancing to loud music in their car. Both had ‘chemical’ tablets (a variety of ‘Spice’ or synthetic cannabinoi­ds) on them. They were sent to concerned authoritie­s.

Cables stolen

Farwaniya police raided a fenced-off yard owned by a Bangladesh­i and found it full of copper cables, electric transforme­rs and paint cans he stole from houses under constructi­on. The discovery was made when police noticed a man walking with a large quantity of copper wire, so they asked him to stop, but he threw the wires and fled. Police chased him till he reached the fencedoff area, where he disappeare­d. Police found the material and a Bangladesh­i woman, who said she was his wife. She said her husband steals the material from houses under constructi­on, then sells it to people he knows for cheap.
