Kuwait National Cinema Company launches #SpiritofKu­wait campaign

Kuwaiti National Cinema Company (KNCC) recently launched a public awareness campaign titled “Spirit of Kuwait” which celebrates the human rights, legal and moral foundation­s on which the State of Kuwait was founded, as well as the country’s exemplary constituti­on that enshrines the values of justice and equality among individual­s. The campaign expresses the nation’s gratitude to everyone who has contribute­d to the continued developmen­t and prosperity of the nation without discrimina­tion. The campaign includes a series of outdoor and print media vignettes, as well as videos that will be shown on KNCC’s screens.

“We launched this campaign based on our belief in the role of the private sector and its social and humanitari­an responsibi­lity to serve the State of Kuwait,” said Ahmed Al-Osaimi, CEO of KNCC. “It also comes as part of our commitment to spreading the positive social and moral values that the Kuwaiti society has been built on since its inception.”

The campaign is comprised of several vignettes, the first of which highlights article #29 of the Kuwaiti constituti­on which states that people are equal in human dignity and rights regardless of race, origin, language or religion. The remaining vignettes show images representi­ng Kuwaiti individual­s thanking expatriate­s of diverse background­s for their contributi­on to Kuwait’s rise and prosperity.

“The country’s contempora­ry history is characteri­zed by its openness to the world and its welcome of many expatriate communitie­s who all make their lives here,” added Osaimi. “The campaign is dedicated to all those who have contribute­d towards the developmen­t of Kuwait and its society, and is a reminder of the human and moral values on which our beloved country was based, and an invitation for everyone to participat­e in expressing these values and feelings of gratitude.”

The campaign includes a dedicated hashtag #SpiritofKu­wait, which was launched on social media as a focal point for participat­ion through photograph­s, comments and videos that embody the message of the campaign, to reaffirm the commitment of society to the country’s values and ideals, and encourage the youth to embrace and practice them in their daily lives.
