Fugitive at large

The Interior Ministry released a statement yesterday commenting on video footage that spread on social media recently showing an unsuccessful attempt to arrest a person with a criminal record. The ministry explained that when police reported to the scene to arrest the suspect, he fiercely resisted arrest and used an electric stun gun against a policeman, before escaping. The ministry added that search is in progress for the suspect.

Fire

A fire broke out inside a house in Saad Al-Abdullah, said security sources, noting that firemen rushed to the scene and found out that a five-member family was trapped by flames. The sources added that family members were rescued, and they were suffering from smoke inhalation. They were handed over to paramedics who rushed them to the hospital. Another team of firemen managed to tackle the blaze and prevent the flames from spreading. An investigation was opened to determine the cause of the fire.
