Ahli United Bank donates to Kuwait Red Crescent Society
As part of its comprehensive social responsibility program, Ahli United Bank (AUB) announced that it has recently made a donation to the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society (KRCS) in support of its philanthropic and humanitarian activities across the country.
This new initiative comes as part of the Bank’s overall drive to provide more humanitarian support to the wider community. The cheque was presented by Dr Anwar Al-Mudhaf, AUB’s Chairman, to Dr Hilal Al-Sayer, President of the Red Crescent Society at the Bank’s headquarters, in the presence of Richard Groves, AUB’s CEO, Moataz El-Rafie, Senior Deputy CEO Banking Group, Lama Al-Othman, Manager Development Resources at the Red Crescent along with Shaimaa Al-Shatti Deputy Manager of Development Resources.
The cheque donated by AUB is specifically to assist families in need of financial support, keeping in touch and communicating with residents of social affairs residences, visiting patients across a number of hospitals - all with the overall objective of providing the right social, community and medical care. Dr Mudhaf, said, “We are delighted to help support the Red Crescent Society’s programs and overall objectives, which are admired across the society due to the continuous support the society provides to those in need.”
Dr Mudhaf added, “Social responsibility is one of the core pillars the Bank focuses on alongside its day-to-day banking operations as an Islamic financial institution. The Bank is keen on diversifying its support to achieve increased levels of sustainable development, and help drive the right values across the society.” Dr Sayer, President of the Red Crescent Society commended AUB’s role in supporting various humanitarian initiatives across Kuwait, including the Red Crescent Society’s activities. Dr Al Sayer thanked the Bank’s Board as well as executive management for their continued support towards the Society’s activities.
It is important to note, that AUB has supported and driven an extensive range of social activities throughout the past year, including the launch of its comprehensive Ramadan social program in partnership with LoYAC, along with providing iftar meals for fasting individuals, Qur’an memorization competition, as well as supporting Autistic children through specialized training programs for special needs, blood donation drives amongst many other initiatives that reaffirm the bank’s commitment towards developing the social fabric of Kuwait.
