Amir offers condolence­s to Sudan president

KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah yesterday sent a cable of condolence­s to Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir over the ‘martyrdom’ and injury of Sudanese troops as part of Arab forces in Yemen. In the cable, His Highness the Amir prayed Allah the Almighty to bless the souls of the martyrs with mercy in Paradise and wished swift recovery of the wounded. Two cables of similar sentiments were sent to the Sudanese president by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

Terrorist shooting

On Saturday, His Highness the Amir sent a cable to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz expressing his condolence­s and condemnati­on to the terrorist shooting attack in Al-Masoura area at Al-Qatif province, which resulted in killing two people, and injuring two others. His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister sent similar cables to the Saudi leadership, expressing similar sentiments. In the meantime, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem sent a cable to Saudi President of Shura Council Dr Abdullah bin Mohammad AlSheikh expressing his condolence­s and sympathy over the terrorist shooting attack. In his cable, Ghanem expressed full solidarity and support to the kingdom in all of its procedures to restore stability and security to the country.

Bus accident

Separately, His Highness the Amir Sheikh sent a cable on Saturday to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressing condolence­s and sympathy over the tourism bus accident, which resulted in killing twenty people, mostly women and children, including 11 others wounded when a minibus veered off a cliff in Turkey’s western Mugla province. His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh and His Highness the Prime Minister sent similar cables to the Turkish leader, expressing similar sentiments. Furthermor­e, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem sent a cable to Turkish Speaker of the National Assembly Ismail Kahraman expressing his condolence­s over the accident. In his cable, the Speaker also wished speedy recovery to those injured in the crash. —KUNA
