Minister urges sustainable system for youth initiative development
Kuwaiti Acting Minister of State for Youth Khaled Al-Roudhan said yesterday that it is imperative to create a sustainable youth support system aiming at overhauling integrated economic infrastructure, and providing a supportive economic environment.
In a keynote speech during the entrepreneurship forum, organized by the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs as part of the ongoing festivities of ‘Kuwait Capital of Arab Youth 2017,’ Roudhan said entrepreneurship could be revamped through streamlining corporate founding procedures.
Roudhan, who doubles as Minister of Commerce and Industry, said to improve entrepreneurship, it is necessary to create new jobs by drawing international companies and making use of their capital, and revising laws and procedures as well as amending market regulations. Entrepreneurship development would undoubtedly provide Kuwaiti young people with a golden chance to easily have a license to found smallsized enterprises and to cooperate with the private sector to overhaul the economic system, he added. The National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Development and public and private foundations always organize training courses for Kuwaiti young people, he noted.
The minister pointed to the fund’s key role in supporting young people’s initiatives and projects and carrying out petrochemical and logistical projects. The three-day forum focuses on subjects and matters pertinent to entrepreneurship. — KUNA
