Two hurt in Fifth Ring Road crash

A fire broke out in a vehicle following a collision involving two other vehicles along the Fifth Ring Road, said security sources, noting that firemen rushed to the scene and managed to control the fire. Two people were injured and treated onsite by paramedics.

Inmate charged

The Ministry of Interior’s relations and security media department said a bedoon inmate at the central prison, who is already serving a two-year sentence for robbery, is facing additional charges of recording a video and posting it on social media from inside the prison. Prison security caught the inmate with a mobile phone, a SIM card and an Internet router. A case was filed and further legal measures are being taken against the suspect.

Smuggling foiled

Kuwait Internatio­nal Airport custom inspectors arrested an Asian man on arrival with 32,000 illicit pills he had hidden in his luggage.

Crackdown

Kuwait Municipali­ty’s public relations department announced that Mubarak Al-Kabeer municipali­ty inspectors continued inspection­s of various co-ops, foodstuff company warehouses, foodstuff stores and restaurant­s before the advent of Ramadan. The department added that the campaign inspected 177 stores that resulted in confiscati­ng and destroying 60 kilos of expired foodstuff and filing 35 citations.
