Worker beats up nonpaying sponsor

A citizen reported that an Asian man working for him has assaulted him. Security sources noted that on rushing to the man’s house in Jahra, the worker said he was not paid his monthly salary, which was confirmed by the sponsor. A case was filed and further investigat­ions are in progress.

Bootlegger­s caught

Four Asians were arrested while using a pickup truck belonging to the company they worked for to distribute alcohol and pills, said security sources, noting that a routine patrol suspected the truck and on stopping it and opening the door, the four passengers reeked of alcohol and were all drunk. On searching the truck, detectives found 13 bottles of liquor, in addition to some illicit pills. A case was filed and further investigat­ions are in progress.

A citizen reported that on returning home, he heard some strange noises and songs from the room of three Asians working for him. The man added that on checking on them, he found that the three laborers were drinking alcohol and having a ‘nice time’. The three drunk workers were arrested and a case was filed.

Five citizens, including two women, were rushed to Adan Hospital with injuries they sustained in a four-car accident along Al-Ghouss Street.

A female citizen filed a complaint against her ex-husband accusing him of trying to kill her using a firearm. However, on arresting the ex-husband, detectives only found a small knife on him and he strongly denied all accusation­s. Further investigat­ions are in progress.

Four citizens were arrested for drinking alcohol and fighting in Saad Al-Abdullah, said security sources, noting that initial investigat­ions showed that after drinking, the four wanted to settle some old scores and used sticks, batons and blades before they were arrested. A search is on for an Asian storekeepe­r after officials in the company he worked for reported finding 45 containers of constructi­on material and goods missing after conducting an inventory. The officials added that the storekeepe­r was nowhere to be found and his mobile phone was switched off. A case was filed.
