ALARGAN CEO to discuss housing sector challenges

ALARGAN International Real Estate Company, a leading real estate developer in the Middle East region, announced its participation in the upcoming Housing and Residential Development Forum, to be held on May 23 and 24 under the patronage of the Ministry of Electricity (MEW) and the Supreme Council of Planning and Development. As a development forum, it will provide an overview of housing projects under planning and development by Kuwait’s Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW), as well as an insight into the latest sustainable design and builds solutions.

The Forum will be inaugurated by the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Planning and Development, Dr Khaled A Mahdi, the Director of the Master Planning Department at the Kuwait Municipality and President of the Kuwait Society of Engineers, Eng. Saad Muhailbi as well as the Director of Planning at the PAWH, Naser Khraibut.

Speaking during an interactive session, ALARGAN CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Khaled Al-Mashaan, will expand on the opportunities and challenges in the housing sector in Kuwait, Al-Mashaan said: “With a growing middle-income population segment, we have a need today, to develop affordable communities that provide high quality residential and mixed-use spaces that ensure sustainable urban development. These communities should have standards that create interconnected cities with a focus on green buildings, and most importantly, create a healthy and unique lifestyle experience.

A strategy regulated by government authorities and executed in partnership with the private sector can deliver this said need. Ultimately, this will develop the local infrastructure, benefiting the country and drive the economy. The Housing and Residential Development Forum is a great opportunity to discuss these needs and showcase the proven capabilities of the private sector in a master strategy that serves the population.”

Speaking as well at the Forum is ALARGAN’s Chief Business Development Officer, Meshaan Mohammed Al-Meshaan, who will take part of a panel discussion on strategies to establish a collaborative environment between the public and private sector to meet Kuwait’s rising demand for housing.
