Man accused of killing his neighbor’s camel

A citizen filed a complaint accusing his neighbor of deliberate­ly killing a prized camel he owned. The man told police that on finding the camel missing from his ranch, he looked around and found it dead about three meters away from his neighbor’s ranch. The man said that he suspects his neighbor because he previously complained many times from ‘noise’ the camels were making. A case was filed and further investigat­ions are in progress. In another camel-related incident, an Asian man was rushed to Jahra Hospital and admitted inside the ICU with serious injuries after he was thrown off the back of his sponsor’s camel in Matraba desert.

Contraband­s

An Asian was arrested in Farwaniya with 500 home brewed liquor bottles ready for sale, said security sources, noting that finding out that he was drunk at a checkpoint, detectives searched the suspect’s vehicle and found the alcohol. Separately, Jahra detectives arrested an Iranian and an Egyptian with ice and meth.

Assault

A female citizen reported that someone she knows barged into her apartment and assaulted her, said security sources, noting that the woman provided a medical report of her injuries. A case was filed and the man is being summoned for further investigat­ions.

Mugging

Ahmadi detectives are searching for five Syrians and a citizen who allegedly attacked and assaulted a Jordanian, robbed him and stole his camera, said security sources, noting that the man provided the police with his assailants’ descriptio­n.

Smuggling

An Asian man was arrested on arrival at Kuwait Internatio­nal Airport with three kilograms of marijuana he had hidden in a box of mangoes, said security sources. On being asked about the gift-wrapped box in his luggage, the suspect told inspectors that it contained mangoes he brought as a gift for a friend, but on searching it, they found the drugs.

Accident

Motorists driving along Salmi highway escaped a disaster when two vehicles loaded on a tow truck slid off. No injuries were reported. —
