ManageEngine makes privileged account management simple

-

ManageEngine, the real-time IT management company, yesterday announced that it is making privileged account management ridiculously simple with the new user interface for Password Manager Pro. Available immediately, the latest version of the company’s privileged account management (PAM) solution features an updated user interface with dramatically improved aesthetics, usability and performance to simplify and expedite password management operations. The solution is being showcased at GISEC 2017 at the ManageEngine stand.

Most security incidents involve administrative credentials and the exploitation of privileged access, so organizations of all types and sizes are making privileged account security a priority. However, most PAM solutions are so complex and hostile to users that IT teams must hire consultants to get started and spend too much time learning and managing the solution instead of performing their IT management tasks. Password Manager Pro changes all that by bringing in consumer product design for enterprise software.

“With technology in the hands of everyone in an organization, privileged access isn’t just an IT concern anymore,” said Rajesh Ganesan, director of product management at ManageEngine. “The complexity and boredom associated with traditional enterprise software are often barriers to enterprise-wide adoption. We have reimagined the user interface of Password Manager Pro to take it to teams beyond IT, using a contemporary design language that ensures speed, efficiency and ease of use.”

Simplifying PAM

Built on a state-of-the-art JavaScript model-view-controller (MVC) platform, the new Password Manager Pro UI offers a sleek, modern look that reinforces its intuitive user experience. The new UI is optimized for large enterprises with highlights that include:

• Faster loading: Pages load 10 times faster, resulting in increased productivity. Even extremely complex and resourceintensive data fetching operations take no more than three seconds.

• Smarter operations: Admins perform fewer keystrokes and clicks to execute tasks. End users gain one-click access to IT systems. Single window operation with minimal pop-ups keeps users focused on their tasks.

• Quicker navigation: Navigate between tabs quicker than ever before as data can be accessed without page reloads.

• Informative dashboard: A new dashboard with live feeds, reports and graphs provides a unified view of privileged accounts usage, managed IT resources and a quick overview of privileged access in the organization.

• Consistent elements: Consistent design elements, icons and widgets across pages create a simple, intuitive user experience of the solution.

• Customizable columns: Users can now control how their information is displayed in the UI. They can drag-and-drop, rearrange, collapse or expand columns to their preference.

Since its launch ten years ago, Password Manager Pro has always kept pace with the latest design trends and has consistently been recognized for ease of use while also perfectly meeting the scalability, performance, security, compliance and integration demands of large enterprises. The new UI design marks a huge leap over the solution’s already best-in-class user experience. In a recent report, “The Forrester Wave(tm): Privileged Identity Management, Q3 2016i,” independent research firm Forrester Research Inc. indicated that ManageEngine Password Manager Pro offered the most up-to-date and intuitive user interface.

“With existing regulations like ISO and PCI and upcoming ones like GDPR, privileged account management is a critical challenge every business must address,” said Alexander Fillips, head of enterprise management at MicroNova, a long-time partner of ManageEngine in Germany. “Password Manager Pro is seeing tremendous growth in the European region, and it is exciting that ManageEngine is giving this user interface an upgrade, which is game-changing in this space. This is going to drive enterprisewide adoption, which is important to ensure compliance to various regulations.”
