Burgan Bank Introduces ‘Workplace Posture Week’

-

Burgan Bank, a lead contributor to progress in society, celebrated ‘Workplace Posture Week’ to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a proper posture in the interest of optimal health. The week-long awareness initiative, under the umbrella of ‘Employee Health and Fitness Month, took place between May 7 and May 11, 2017.

Demonstrating its firm commitment to employee wellbeing, Burgan Bank joined forces with the internationallyacclaimed chiropractor, Dr Timothy Simansky, a New Yorkbased expert in injury prevention and sports rehabilitation to provide hands-on posture advice and mitigate risks associated with sedentary lifestyles and long working hours in an office. A practicing chiropractic for nearly a decade and a frequent lecturer to national and international audiences, Dr Simansky delivered highly interactive sessions for Burgan Bank employees entitled ‘Workplace Survival and Proper Workplace Posture’ and demonstrated posture-friendly workstation methods and office seating arrangements within departments. During his visit, employees had the opportunity to inquire about existing injuries and address other health-related concerns.

Proper posture, often a neglected issue, has immense health benefits that may include higher levels of energy, better bone health, higher self-esteem and can prevent serious neck, back, muscle, leg and other injury.

‘Workplace Posture Week’ is driven by the commitment of creating a healthy and dynamic work environment, whereby employees can utilize their full potential to shine and grow. Burgan believes it is essential to invest in the long-term benefits of its employees as it directly contributes to their happiness and wellbeing, which ultimately creates a more innovative and agile workforce. With the latest series of novel initiatives for the betterment and empowerment of its employees, the most progressive bank in Kuwait seeks to instill lasting solutions to local challenges and deliver real change, starting from within.
