TSC hosted live cooking sessions for Japanese food savvy customers

-

The Sultan Center - Al-Shaab branch, recently hosted a Japanese cooking event led by Chef Jay of Wasabi Restaurants. The cooking sessions offered customers a chance to participate through hands on experience and learn how to make delicious Japanese Teppanayaki and Sushi rolls under the guidance of an experienced chef.

During the 2 days cooking session, customers were able to learn how to prepare authentic Japanese dishes available at Wasabi Restaurant including both hot and cold dishes. The first day showcased the variety of Japanese Teppanyaki such as beef chicken, shrimp mixed vegetables, smoked salmon wrap shrimp and asparagus. On the second day, the session focused on cold dishes and appetizers including: Edamame, California Maki, Panko Roll, Spinach Maki, Shrimp Cabbage Parcela and Asparamki.

The interactive cooking sessions provided participants with an insight on the authentic way to prepare Japanese dishes with a discussion on types of ingredients to be used and health benefits of Japanese cuisine along with the type of kitchen equipment to use. The products used to cook these recipes were all available within TSC stores, whereby customers could select the ingredients and start preparing the dishes at home

Participants enjoyed taking part in the session; and learned that Japanese cuisine can provide them with menu options for a healthy and well balanced diet. TSC customers can look forward to more live cooking demonstrations on a variety of international cuisines.
