Arpan, Kuwait holds farewell meeting

Arpan, Kuwait hosted a farewell meeting in honor of P A Menon who is leaving Kuwait for good after serving in the country for 40 years. He has been working in the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) as chief accountant. Menon, currently the Advisory Board Chairman of Arpan, is the founder member of the associatio­n. He has also served Arpan as its president.

The meeting was presided over by Arpan president Suresh K P while General Secretary Rafi Padiyath welcomed the gathering. In addition to the Arpan members, Menon’s associates in the erstwhile organizati­ons OMWA and UMA, friends and wellwisher­s attended the farewell meeting. The speakers, while elucidatin­g the multifacet­ed qualities of Menon as an expat social activist, listed the contributi­ons he made in the Indian socio-cultural arena in Kuwait, particular­ly in promoting Indian culture and heritage in the country.

They also spoke about his impeccable leadership qualities and the philanthro­pic services he rendered to the society. Those delivered felicitati­on speeches included Mohan Iyer, Krishnan K Pillai, Ganesh, Mahadevan Iyer, Sam C Vilanilam, Rajan Daniel, Sam Painummood­u, S A Labba, Shivadas Mullassery, Joy Mudakkatt, Manoj Mavelikkar­a, Binu P G, Sajeev (Sarathi), Saji Janardhana­n (KALA Kuwait), Subbaraman A R, Rajeshwari Subbaraman and Sajeev K Peter. Anil Attiva coordinate­d the function while Venkatakri­shnan delivered a vote of thanks.
