Arpan, Kuwait holds farewell meeting
Arpan, Kuwait hosted a farewell meeting in honor of P A Menon who is leaving Kuwait for good after serving in the country for 40 years. He has been working in the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) as chief accountant. Menon, currently the Advisory Board Chairman of Arpan, is the founder member of the association. He has also served Arpan as its president.
The meeting was presided over by Arpan president Suresh K P while General Secretary Rafi Padiyath welcomed the gathering. In addition to the Arpan members, Menon’s associates in the erstwhile organizations OMWA and UMA, friends and wellwishers attended the farewell meeting. The speakers, while elucidating the multifaceted qualities of Menon as an expat social activist, listed the contributions he made in the Indian socio-cultural arena in Kuwait, particularly in promoting Indian culture and heritage in the country.
They also spoke about his impeccable leadership qualities and the philanthropic services he rendered to the society. Those delivered felicitation speeches included Mohan Iyer, Krishnan K Pillai, Ganesh, Mahadevan Iyer, Sam C Vilanilam, Rajan Daniel, Sam Painummoodu, S A Labba, Shivadas Mullassery, Joy Mudakkatt, Manoj Mavelikkara, Binu P G, Sajeev (Sarathi), Saji Janardhanan (KALA Kuwait), Subbaraman A R, Rajeshwari Subbaraman and Sajeev K Peter. Anil Attiva coordinated the function while Venkatakrishnan delivered a vote of thanks.
