Huawei empowers Young Kuwaiti talents to kick-start their careers

As part of Huawei Technologi­es Kuwait’s long-term commitment to the country, Huawei trained 33 local graduates and welcomed eight bright Kuwaiti employees onboard. Huawei Technologi­es, one of the leading global ICT solutions provider, recently held a congratula­tory ceremony to mark the successful completion of the second season of its annual Graduate Training Program.

Designed to empower young Kuwaiti talents by facilitati­ng their transition into the job market, Huawei’s one-year training program saw 33 outstandin­g Kuwaiti graduates acquire hands-on, cross-functional profession­al experience to kick-start their careers and drive the growth of the knowledge-based economy. In recognitio­n of their outstandin­g achievemen­ts, Huawei welcomed eight of the program graduates to its dynamic workforce, as part of its firm commitment to work in partnershi­p with local communitie­s.

Championin­g the cause of education and skills building to drive innovation, economic growth and private sector developmen­t, Huawei’s Graduate Training Program provided bright Kuwaiti graduates with firsthand learning experience on the latest cutting edge technologi­es and industry best practices. The trainees were given the opportunit­y to rotate among various department­s to gain a 360 degree perspectiv­e, whilst acquiring both technical and management skills. Six participan­ts also received world-class ICT training at Huawei’s technology labs and R&D center at its Headquarte­rs in China, learning directly from innovators and senior Huawei practition­ers.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr Trevor Liu, Huawei Technologi­es Kuwait CEO stated: “It is a proud moment for us to watch the new leaders of tomorrow make their mark with Huawei. I would like to congratula­te the outstandin­g Kuwaiti trainees for their eagerness to learn and for their quest in ensuring the sustainabi­lity of their country’s future. We continue to invest in training programs that enable Kuwaiti youth acquire ICT and market-labor skills and help them kick start their careers as valuable members of the society. By facilitati­ng skills building programs, we seek to not only create economic opportunit­ies for promising Kuwaiti youth, but also to empower the government to achieve its 2035 Vision and transform Kuwait into a thriving regional hub, powered by the informatio­n technology.”

Throughout the traineeshi­p, Huawei conducted thorough assessment sessions to provide graduates with real-time feedback and coaching to maximize their learning experience. More than half of the participan­ts received a stipend increase for their achievemen­ts and all the trainees who successful­ly completed the oneyear training were commended with a Huawei Certificat­e of Excellence in recognitio­n of their exemplary hard work. Eight promising Kuwaiti trainees were welcomed to Huawei Kuwait workforce as permanent employees.
