Jabri leads Kuwait’s delegation to FAO conference
Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Municipal Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri is leading the Kuwaiti delegation to the 40th Session of the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) Conference, Rome. The conference that started yesterday focuses on the international strategy and efforts for sustainable development, as well as eradication of hunger. The delegation includes Kuwait’s Ambassador to Italy Sheikh Ali AlKhaled, Director General and Chairman of the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAFR) Engineer Faisal Al-Hasawi, and the Kuwaiti Permanent Delegate to FAO, Engineer Yousef Jehail. Minister Jabri will address the session.
The minister will take part today in an international ministerial conference on the rarity of water in the Near East and North African Region, to review Kuwait’s efforts to counter the colossal challenge. Kuwait’s participation in the FAO conference is part of the country’s active role and contribution to drawing up the field and regional policies to enhance food security on the national and international scenes.
On the sidelines of the opening session today, Jabri and Pakistan’s Minister of National Food Security and Research Sikandar Hayat discussed bilateral relations and cooperation. The two sides stressed the significance of exchanging expertise, as well as boosting coordination on the international scene. — KUNA
