KFH rec­og­nizes CIBFS hold­ers

KUWAIT: Kuwait Fi­nance House (KFH) held a cer­e­mony to honor a batch of its em­ploy­ees who suc­cess­fully com­pleted Cer­ti­fied Is­lamic Bank­ing and Fi­nan­cial Ser­vices pro­gram CIBFS. This em­anates from KFH en­deav­ors to rec­og­nize its hu­man re­sources while con­tin­u­ally train­ing them and pro­vid­ing them with the nec­es­sary skills.

Present at the cer­e­mony were sev­eral high­rank­ing of­fi­cials from the bank led by Group Chief Re­tail and Pri­vate Bank­ing Of­fi­cer Waleed Man­dani, Group Gen­eral Man­ager Re­tail Bank­ing Fadi Chalouhi, Ex­ec­u­tive Man­ager Tal­ent Man­age­ment, Imad Mirza along with a num­ber of ex­ec­u­tives.

Mirza said that the CIBFS cer­tifi­cates ob­tained by 10 KFH em­ploy­ees are ap­proved in­ter­nally from the In­sti­tute of Bank­ing Stud­ies (IBS) and ex­ter­nally from the Gen­eral Coun­cil for Is­lamic Banks and Fi­nan­cial In­sti­tu­tions (CIBAFI) based in Bahrain.

He added that this pro­gram is tai­lored and de­vel­oped to pro­vide good knowl­edge on Is­lamic bank­ing and its sci­en­tific ap­pli­ca­tions as per the re­quire­ments of the ad­vanced Is­lamic fi­nance in­dus­try, in­di­cat­ing this con­trib­utes to raise the bar of the em­ploy­ees, hone their skills and qual­ify them to come up with in­no­va­tive so­lu­tions to op­ti­mally per­form all bank­ing trans­ac­tions, while over­com­ing the work­place hur­dles and chal­lenges.

He ex­plained that the pro­gram con­ducted for a pe­riod of three months; 186 hours. It ran in two phases. The first phase is the train­ing pro­gram with dif­fer­ent sub­jects and top­ics tack­led. The sec­ond phase is 12 hours for a case study.

The pro­gram en­com­passed sev­eral axes in­clud­ing in­ter­na­tional sharia stan­dards, sharia su­per­vi­sory mech­a­nisms, eco­nomic fun­da­men­tals of Is­lamic fi­nan­cial ser­vices, ba­sics of ac­count­ing and fi­nan­cial anal­y­sis, ba­sics of risk man­age­ment, bank­ing credit ba­sics, fi­nan­cial in­sti­tu­tions or­ga­ni­za­tional struc­ture and ba­sics of Is­lamic econ­omy.
