Writ­ers’ Fo­rum Kuwait con­ducts monthly meet­ing

At the monthly meet­ing of the Writ­ers’ Fo­rum, Kuwait (WFK) held at the res­i­dence of Ali Chougle and Maimuna Chougle on the May 26, 2017, some very in­sight­ful and beau­ti­ful wordsin po­etry and prose, were pre­sented by its mem­bers. The beauty not only lay in the con­tent which had depth and pro­voked the lis­ten­ers to think, but it also lay in the lin­guis­tic va­ri­ety thereof.

The meet­ing started with a note of thanks by Maimuna Chougle, the newly elected Pres­i­dent of the fo­rum. She, on be­half of the newly elected Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee of the fo­rum, con­veyed hearti­est thanks to all the mem­bers of the fo­rum for show­ing their con­fi­dence in them and also as­sured to put all the ef­forts to come up to their ex­pec­ta­tions. All the mem­bers, in turns, wel­comed the new Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee and com­mu­ni­cated their whole­hearted sup­port.

While the evening was presided over by Umesh Sharma; the for­mer Pres­i­dent and one of the founder mem­bers of the fo­rum, the Chief Guest on the oc­ca­sion was Dr Navniit Gandhi. The meet­ing was steered by Rajesh Ver­lekar; Gen­eral Sec­re­tary of the Fo­rum. In the first ses­sion, Rajesh Ver­lekar pre­sented his short story ‘A Mem­o­rable Chilled Evening’ and Tushar Mishra pre­sented ‘Aap Beeti Ka­hani’ wherein both of them re lived their old mem­o­ries.

The sec­ond ses­sion com­prised the recita­tion of po­etry by Dr Arvind Raina, Umesh Sharma, Ch­haya Athavle and Su­nil Sonsi (Hindi), Say­eed Nazar Kada­pavi, Afroz Alam, Ameerud­din Ameer, Ibrahim Sanger­aja, Maimuna Ali Chougle, Nazneen Ali and Sabir Omer Gal­sulkar (Urdu) and Satya Narayan (Tamil). An­other for­mer mem­ber-Par­min­der Kaur’s poem in English was re­cited by her fa­therMo­han Singh. Oth­ers who were present in­cluded Ravin Singh, Ra­jeev Athavale and Ali Chougle

The Chief Guest Dr Navniit Gandhi weaved her sen­ti­ments beau­ti­fully into words and ex­pressed her hap­pi­ness at the WFK’s suc­cess in bring­ing and keep­ing to­gether the lan­guages and po­ets of all sea­sons. She, then, re­cited a beau­ti­ful po­etry in Hindi. Umesh Sharma who was pre­sid­ing over the evening, also ex­pressed his ela­tion and con­tent­ment, while lis­ten­ing to all the mem­bers. He too re­cited a grip­ping poem in Hindi. The host -Ali Chougle and Maimuna Chougle were thanked for the gra­cious hos­pi­tal­ity.
