Supreme council
Head of the Kuwait Medical Association (KMA) Dr Mohammad Al-Mutairi, has been elected by acclamation as chairman of the Supreme Council of the Arab Medical Union (AMU). Kuwait’s uncontested election for the post took place during the council’s general assembly hosted by the Egyptian Medical Syndicate, Mutairi said. The choice reflects Kuwait’s status and the distinct role of the Kuwaiti political leadership on the foreign scene, he added. Mutairi previously held the post of the assistant secretary general of the AMU. —KUNA
