Amir offers condolence­s to Egyptian President

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah on Friday sent a cable of condolence­s to Egypt’s President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi over the victims of the armed attack that targeted a security checkpoint in the city of El Badrashin, Giza Governorat­e, killing five policemen. His Highness the Amir voiced Kuwait’s strong condemnati­on of such criminal acts that aim at disrupting security and stability in the country. His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber AlMubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent two similar cables to the Egyptian President. Meanwhile, an official source at the Foreign Ministry voiced Kuwait’s strong condemnati­on of the terrorist attack. The source reiterated Kuwait’s support to the “brothers in Egypt” and all the measures Cairo might take to protect the country’s security and stability. The foreign ministry source reaffirmed Kuwait’s initial, and unwavering stance, that rejects violence and all forms of terrorism, and offered condolence­s to the Egyptian leadership, government and people as well as the victims’ families, praying for everlastin­g security and stability in the country. —KUNA
