Prime Minister patronizes 5th E-Government Forum (EGOV5)

Organized by NoufEXPO in collaboration with CAIT

-

NoufEXPO announced the convening of the ‘5th E-Government Forum - Digital Transformation’ in collaboration with the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT) from 5 - 7 November 2017 at Arraya Ballroom of Courtyard Marriott hotel. EGOV5 is set to be held under the auspices of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad AlSabah. This high level governmental support and patronage made EGOV a manifestation of Kuwait’s transformation towards building the information based society. EGOV-featured topics and technologies have always helped government departments in Kuwait build their digital transformation plans and set their roadmaps for an advanced futuristic e-services era.

Digital transformation

EGOV5 will focus on Digital Transformation as the journey that government agencies should undergo to be able to achieve the objectives of their e-government programs as set by the government. EGOV5 will discuss the basic characteristics of digital transformation, its requirements, its success factors, and the pitfalls or risks that need to be considered and mitigated along the way. EGOV5 will also discuss the new technological phenomena and their impact on digital transformation plans of enterprises. No doubt, digital transformation is a mandatory path that all public and private enterprises alike should pursue to ensure continuity and growth.

Digital transformation can be described as the acceleration of business activities, processes, competencies, and models to fully leverage the changes and opportunities of digital technologies and their impact in a strategic and prioritized way. Regardless of the many definitions or descriptions that digital transformation might have, the real value that everybody seeks is to improve business outcome. This is true whether the organization is a government department or a private sector enterprise.

A NoufEXPO spokesman said that EGOV5 opening ceremony will witness the announcement of the results of the E-Services Excellence Award. CAIT started this initiative during the opening ceremony of EGOV4 last year for the first time. The Award boosts e-government initiatives of Kuwait’s government agencies and encourages these agencies to implement a speedy, yet coordinated, e-Services development effort. The E-Services Excellence Award is granted to the government agency that deploys the best EService on Kuwait electronic portal (www.e.gov.kw) according to the criteria that CAIT sets for this Award.

Leading vendors

The NoufEXPO spokesman concluded his statement by saying EGOV, and since its first round in 2013, hosted many world-class leading technology vendors like Microsoft, IBM, EMC, CISCO, Symantec, FireEye, EY, Aruba, and many others as well as major Kuwaiti enterprises such as VIVA, Alghanim Industries, KFH, KNET, and others. Moreover, EGOV features the participation of many government IT Departments that demonstrate their e-Services and eGovernment plans. EGOV5’s Scientific Committee, as well as other organizing committees, is finalizing EGOV5’s program and proceedings. We urge all interested technology vendors and specialists to contact the Scientific Committee or NoufEXPO on +965 22469921 or send their messages to info@noufexpo.com.kw in order to reserve their spot in this unique technology event.
