Education Minister honors Innovation Competition winners
The Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohammed Al-Faris honored the winners of the Kuwait ‘Ibtikar’ Innovation Competition organized by Al-Saad Foundation for Knowledge and Scientific Research in the presence of the Chairman of Al-Saad Foundation Sheikha Fadia Al-Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah yesterday. The students were honored by the Minister of Education for their inventions and scientific innovations competing locally and regionally at the Gulf level.
Dr Mohammed Al-Faris said that the efforts exerted by Al-Saad Foundation contributed to the enhancement of the talents of the students through continuous training and care, and that Al-Saad’s initiative through Kuwait’s innovation is a great example of achieving solidarity and responsibility for the youth in the Kuwaiti society. He also thanked the students, teachers and supervisors of the students for providing the necessary environment and fruitful cooperation that resulted in the success over three consecutive years. He concluded that the Ministry of Education will continue to support Kuwait Innovation Competition because of its constructive impact on the process of education.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Saad Foundation, Sheikha Fadia Al-Saad Al-Sabah said that the Ministry of Education’s recognition indicates that the innovation competition in Kuwait has made a difference in the educational process through an advanced methodology which is in line with the world’s visions. The Ministry of Education has exerted an intense attention and the number of participants is increasing showing that the fruitful cooperation of both the sector reflected its impact on female students. She said that this competition, which is sponsored annually by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, aims to empower women through investing in girls education and aims primarily to develop practical skills that will help women in the future to enter into various fields in the labor market.
The Director General of Kuwait Innovation Initiative Fatima Al-Hashim, thanked the Ministry of Education for receiving and honoring the creative students which had a positive and motivational effect on them. She added that the activities of the initiative are varied and their competition is distinguished in terms of scientific material and training mechanism based on providing the student with multiple skills and stimulating thinking. It is worth noting that the Ministry of Education and Al-Saad Foundation for Knowledge and Scientific Research are in an agreement and that Al-Mabarra seeks to spread the culture of science, knowledge and sustainable development.
