Old woman, children rescued from burning house in Rabiya

Fire broke out in a Rabiya house yesterday, prompting firemen from the Ardiya and Farwaniya fire stations to respond. The fire was on the ground floor, while an elderly woman and three children were trapped on the first floor. They were rescued and sent to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. The fire was put out before it could spread further. Separately, a citizen suffered several bruises when his vehicle collided with trees near Al-Zour fire station. Paramedics took him to hospital.

Unlicensed cosmetics

The Interior Ministry’s Relations and Security Informatio­n Department said residency detectives arrested three Asian women, two of whom have article 20 residency permits (domestic helpers) and the third an article 18 (private sector employee) visa, and charged them with trading in unlicensed cosmetics. They were sent to concerned authoritie­s.
