Min­istry of Health con­ducts ori­en­ta­tion meet­ing for pil­grims

Health Min­istry’s As­sis­tant Un­der­sec­re­tary for Le­gal Af­fairs Sal­man Al-Haifi said the min­istry ex­erts all ef­forts to pro­vide health care to pil­grims in order to guar­an­tee them the best health ser­vices. Haifi was speak­ing dur­ing an ori­en­ta­tion meet­ing of the Kuwaiti hajj med­i­cal mis­sion at the Is­lamic medicine cen­ter, which was or­ga­nized by the in­for­ma­tion of­fice of the Min­istry of Health (MOH). He said the mis­sion pro­vides pil­grims with the nec­es­sary medicine and first aid, in ad­di­tion to co­or­di­nat­ing with of­fi­cials of Saudi Ara­bia.

Mean­while, head of the in­for­ma­tion of­fice Dr Ghalia Al-Mu­tairi said the gath­er­ing aims at in­form­ing the mis­sion’s mem­bers about the im­por­tance of vac­ci­na­tions be­fore hajj.

Fur­ther­more, she in­di­cated that the meet­ing also aims at pro­tect­ing against in­fec­tious dis­eases and how to deal with med­i­cal cases and care for the el­derly, chronic dis­eases and chil­dren, as well as the cases re­quir­ing med­i­cal ser­vices in Saudi Ara­bia. She said that the min­istry set up a hot­line (90938818) that gives ad­vice re­lated to the pil­grims’ health, ad­ding that the in­for­ma­tion is also avail­able us­ing the min­istry’s smart­phone app. — KUNA
