Ministry of Health conducts orientation meeting for pilgrims
Health Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs Salman Al-Haifi said the ministry exerts all efforts to provide health care to pilgrims in order to guarantee them the best health services. Haifi was speaking during an orientation meeting of the Kuwaiti hajj medical mission at the Islamic medicine center, which was organized by the information office of the Ministry of Health (MOH). He said the mission provides pilgrims with the necessary medicine and first aid, in addition to coordinating with officials of Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, head of the information office Dr Ghalia Al-Mutairi said the gathering aims at informing the mission’s members about the importance of vaccinations before hajj.
Furthermore, she indicated that the meeting also aims at protecting against infectious diseases and how to deal with medical cases and care for the elderly, chronic diseases and children, as well as the cases requiring medical services in Saudi Arabia. She said that the ministry set up a hotline (90938818) that gives advice related to the pilgrims’ health, adding that the information is also available using the ministry’s smartphone app. — KUNA
