Li­censes sus­pended

A Mu­nic­i­pal­ity of­fi­cial said Mu­nic­i­pal­ity Di­rec­tor Gen­eral Ah­mad Al-Man­fouhi is­sued a de­ci­sion sus­pend­ing com­mer­cial li­censes on the coastal line, in ad­di­tion to not re­new­ing some of them. He added that the de­ci­sion in­cludes car of­fices, some restau­rants and en­ter­tain­ment fa­cil­i­ties, in ad­di­tion to ho­tels. The source said the mu­nic­i­pal­ity car­ried out a com­pre­hen­sive sur­vey of the ac­tiv­i­ties on the coastal line, where it was found that a large per­cent­age of stores have been en­croach­ing on state prop­erty for many years. He said car of­fices use large ar­eas with­out ob­tain­ing li­censes from the road oc­cu­pancy depart­ment.

The Saudi Min­istry of Cul­ture and In­for­ma­tion re­ferred Dr Ali Al-Rubaie to the pub­li­ca­tion vi­o­la­tions com­mit­tee for vi­o­lat­ing reg­u­la­tions. This was due to a tweet by Rubaie in which he said a Mus­lim is not al­lowed to pray for Kuwaiti ac­tor Ab­dul­hus­sein Ab­dulredha be­cause he is a “re­jec­tion­ist” who died on the “stray path”.

New pier fa­cil­i­ties

Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor of Projects at KNPC Ab­dul­lah Al-Ajmi said the load­ing of the first tanker from the sulphur load­ing fa­cil­i­ties’ new pier will take place at the end of Oc­to­ber. Ajmi added that the cost of the pro­ject is around KD 153 mil­lion. One phase of the pro­ject is for new fa­cil­i­ties, while the other phase is re­lated to up­grad­ing cur­rent fa­cil­i­ties that were con­structed more than 30 years ago.

Min­is­ters to face grilling

A group of MPs agreed to grill the min­is­ters of fi­nance, oil and so­cial af­fairs dur­ing the next par­lia­men­tary term sched­uled to start by the end of Oc­to­ber. Sources said op­po­si­tion MPs of the “26 fac­tion” met and de­cided to grill min­is­ters Anas AlSaleh, Es­sam Al-Mar­zouq and Hind Al-Sabeeh for “mis­man­ag­ing” their min­istries, not an­swer­ing par­lia­men­tary ques­tions and hid­ing in­for­ma­tion, be­sides fi­nan­cial and ad­min­is­tra­tive vi­o­la­tions as men­tioned in the Au­dit Bureau re­port.

KUWAIT: En­vi­ron­ment Pub­lic Author­ity Chair­man and Di­rec­tor Gen­eral Sheikh Ab­dal­lah Ah­mad Al-Hu­moud Al-Sabah signed a Me­moran­dum of un­der­stand­ing with the ‘Leader Group’ com­pany rep­re­sented by its GM Na­bila Al-An­jari to or­ga­nize the Green & Clean Ex­po­si­tion & Fo­rum.
