Minister Hind Al-Sabeeh visits ACK’s Aviation department
KUWAIT: Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and State Minister for Economic Affairs Hind AlSabeeh visited Aviation department at Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) yesterday in Mishref. Minister Al-Sabeeh was received along with Ibrahim Al-Khuzam, CEO of Kuwait Airways, Engineer Faisal Al-Azmi, and Director of Engineering at Kuwait Airways. Prof Dr Essam Zaabalawi, President of ACK welcomed minister Al-Sabeeh and showed his appreciation for their visit that reflects the extent of their interest in supporting and strengthening the role played by the college through its mission, which is the directives of His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah related to the development of education.
Zaabalawi added that the college is keen to provide educational and training special programs in the fields of engineering, business administration, aviation and marine science to contribute effectively to the development of human share capital in Kuwait to serve development comprehensive process concept with a focus on applied and professional aspects based on the knowledge base. He stressed that in the philosophy learning undertaken by the Australian College of Kuwait, “We learn to know, to work, to educate and to live together.”
He thanked Kuwait Airways for their support and their keenness to provide training opportunities for students during the study and employment opportunities after graduation and ACK looks forward to opening new horizons and enhancing cooperation between the two parties to increase the benefit by participating in the development of new programs.
The Aviation department at the Australian College of Kuwait has been approved as a Part147 Maintenance Training Organization, by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Kuwait and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Diploma program is a course specially designed for students who wish to gain employment in the aerospace industry as aircraft trainee mechanics or trainee engineers.
Diploma graduates will be equipped with a wide range of practical skills and knowledge, applicable to the aerospace maintenance industry. These diploma programs have five semesters and it is a two and a half years fulltime course. Successful completion of the Diploma program also provides a pathway for further training towards becoming a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME).
The Australian College of Kuwait was established to provide internationally recognized and accredited experiential education and training in Business, Engineering, Aviation and Maritime sectors. It was licensed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education under Amiri Decree 141/2003 and commenced operation in October 2004. Since then, ACK has grown to become one of the leading educational institutions in Kuwait, strongly contributing towards the employment sector and continuing to produce knowledgeable, skilled and professional candidates for Kuwait’s growing economy.
