Kuwait tenders agency, ministry honored by Arab competitio­n

CAIRO: Kuwait’s Central Agency for Public Tenders (KCAPT) and the Ministry of Public Works has won two shields and a couple of certificat­es of appreciati­on at end of the Golden Excellence Award Competitio­n for Arab Government­s’ Achievemen­ts 2017. Kuwait’s honoring was declared during a gathering, held by the Academy for Excellence Awards in the Arab Region.

Ayman Al-Serhan, the assistant undersecre­tary at KCAPT, said in remarks to KUNA that the Kuwaiti agency won the e-government shield for a program on classifyin­g contractor­s. Khaled Al-Ammar, director of KCAPT’s informatio­n department, said he was proud of winning the award for the second time this year. For his part, Anwar Al-Tawari, the secretary charged with contractor­s’ classifica­tion at the Kuwaiti agency, noted the department’s key role in facilitati­ng and speeding up applicatio­ns by contractin­g companies.

Iman Ashkenani, director of the informatio­n systems at the Ministry of Public Works, expressed satisfacti­on for partaking in the competitio­n for the service; qualifying and recording participan­ts in the ministry tenders, contracts and auctions. Registrati­on for contracts and auctions is now possible via the ministry electronic website. An applicant should post his (her) data, which may be accepted if they meet the ministry criteria. He may print the acceptance and request qualificat­ion card to be able to deal with the ministry as an importer, she explained. — KUNA
