Kuwait tenders agency, ministry honored by Arab competition
CAIRO: Kuwait’s Central Agency for Public Tenders (KCAPT) and the Ministry of Public Works has won two shields and a couple of certificates of appreciation at end of the Golden Excellence Award Competition for Arab Governments’ Achievements 2017. Kuwait’s honoring was declared during a gathering, held by the Academy for Excellence Awards in the Arab Region.
Ayman Al-Serhan, the assistant undersecretary at KCAPT, said in remarks to KUNA that the Kuwaiti agency won the e-government shield for a program on classifying contractors. Khaled Al-Ammar, director of KCAPT’s information department, said he was proud of winning the award for the second time this year. For his part, Anwar Al-Tawari, the secretary charged with contractors’ classification at the Kuwaiti agency, noted the department’s key role in facilitating and speeding up applications by contracting companies.
Iman Ashkenani, director of the information systems at the Ministry of Public Works, expressed satisfaction for partaking in the competition for the service; qualifying and recording participants in the ministry tenders, contracts and auctions. Registration for contracts and auctions is now possible via the ministry electronic website. An applicant should post his (her) data, which may be accepted if they meet the ministry criteria. He may print the acceptance and request qualification card to be able to deal with the ministry as an importer, she explained. — KUNA
