Bok Jaco Kriel ruled out of All Blacks Test

- JOHANNESBURG:

A shoulder injury has ruled Springboks flanker Jaco Kriel out of a Rugby Championship Test in New Zealand Saturday, South African Rugby announced yesterday. SA Rugby said in a statement that the 28-year-old suffered a shoulder tear during a 23-23 draw with Australia in Perth last Saturday. No replacement will be called up for the All Blacks Test and Jean-Luc du Preez is likely to be promoted from the bench to form the back row with Siya Kolisi and No. 8 Uzair Cassiem. Coach Allister Coetzee will have to make at least one other change to the pack that started against the Wallabies as tighthead prop Coenie Oosthuizen broke an arm during that match. Trevor Nyakane is the probable starter in the No. 3 shirt with Ruan Dreyer and mid-tour squad addition Wilco Louw the options for a place on the bench as front-row cover. Title-holders and world champions New Zealand have 14 points, South Africa 11, Australia three and Argentina none halfway through the six-round competition.
