Indian Community School felicitates Dr V Binumon

Agrand felicitation program was held on 20th September, 2017 at ICSK Senior Auditorium, in honor of Dr V Binumon, Senior Administrator and Principal, Senior Branch for receiving the President’s National Teacher Award for 2016 under the CBSE Principal category from the Honorable Vice President, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu in a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, on 5th September 2017. The Award carries a certificate of merit, cash award and a silver medal. National Teacher Award is an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and was instituted in 1958 in honor of Former President, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and is given away on 5th September (Teacher’s Day) every year. The Management of ICSK gave a grand reception to Dr V Binumon for receiving this prestigious award.

Sherly Dennis - Principal ICSK Junior welcomed the gathering and the ICSK students enthralled everyone with their welcome dance and group song. Sheikh Abdul Rahman, the Hon. Chairman of ICSK, in his presidential address, complimented Dr V Binumon for his energetic and inspiring leadership, dedication for his chosen career and his ability to bring in changes with passion and diligence. He also emphasized his vision in bringing the scheme of NIOS to cater to the needs of desirous students.

The Chief Guest, Sanjeev Saklani,Attache Counselor for Education, Indian Embassy Kuwait congratulated Dr V Binumon and his family and emphasized the value and importance of “Guru Teacher” in the Indian culture. The Honorable Members of the Board of ICSK, Hon. Vice Chairman Vinukumar Nair, Hon. Secretary Amer Muhammed, Hon. Joint Secretary, Agnello Fernandes and Hon. Treasurer, S N Raju, in their speeches, extolled Dr V Binumon’s personal and professional qualities that make him truly deserving this great award.

Rajesh Nair, Principal ICSK Amman, in his felicitation speech expressed his great admiration for Dr V Binumon, a proficient administrator, who always keeps students’ welfare close to his heart and work tirelessly to motivate them to achieve their goal. A video montage of congratulatory messages from retired teachers and exstudents of ICSK brought nostalgic moments to the gathering. The Management of ICSK felicitated Dr V Binumon with a memento and a gift. In his reply speech, Dr V Binumon thanked the School Management and whole ICSK fraternity for their support and dedicated this award for ICSK. Shirsath, Principal ICSK Khaitan, proposed the vote of thanks.
