Speaker Ghanem to meet Bush Sr
KUWAIT: Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanem headed to the US State of Maine on a short visit to meet with former President George H W Bush, said a statement by a media source yesterday. According to Al-Destor (the constitution) TV channel, Speaker Ghanem is expected to deliver a written letter from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to Bush.
The source affirmed that Ghanem would also convey greetings from the Kuwaiti people to the former President for his historic stance during the Iraqi invasion GENEVA: Kuwait yesterday requested a grace period from the United Nations Compensation Commission tasked with Iraq’s dues, after its occupation of Kuwait, in 1990 and the subsequent liberation of Kuwait in 1991.
