ACK’s participation in KOC’s ‘potential risks of e-smoking campaign’
Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) organized an event to raise the awareness levels regarding ‘the potential risks of electronic smoking” in the presence of Acting Director of KOC’s Public Relations and Media Group Hassan Al-Shammari and Director of AlAhmadi Hospital Dr Imad Al-Awad. The event took place on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.
KOC has invited the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) to participate as a guest speaker and a booth representative representing their ‘Smoking Awareness Initiative’ program which consists of conducting school visits to aware children regarding the effects of smoking on humans and also the environment during their campaign. ACK’s school visits are hosted by ACK’s students from the Management Diploma program under the supervision of the Healthy Living Committee where students prepare presentations that are interactive and involve practical demonstrations as well as audience participation.
During his speech, ACK Senior Manager of Health and Safety quoted: “The vision of the College is to enable human potentials within a culture of care has been actively translated through the collaborative work and efforts with the ‘Smoking Awareness Initiative’ towards the school visitation program.”
The ‘Smoking Awareness Initiative’ has received a very positive feedback from KOC’s campaign attendees and many schools who have attended the campaign requested ACK to conduct a school visit for their schools.
