Gulf Bank congratula­tes ArabNet on successful conference

KUWAIT: Gulf Bank concluded its Gold Sponsorshi­p of the 2017 edition of the ArabNet Kuwait conference. The Bank congratula­tes the organizers on a successful second edition of the event, which took place at the Arraya Ballroom - Courtyard Marriott over 17 and 18 October 2017.

The conference was held under the patronage of Khaled Al-Roudhan, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Youth Affairs. During the event, Roudhan visited the stand out Gulf Bank booth themed ‘Investing in Entreprene­urs and Innovation’ and was briefed on the Bank’s latest product, WISE Investment­s.

The conference was attended by a wide cross section of government entities, private sector companies, digital commerce businesses, social media companies, several of Kuwait’s start-ups and entreprene­urial ventures, as well as youth in Kuwait. During the event, a number of panel discussion­s took place on ad-tech, investment and innovation, digital commerce, as well as a Startup battle and Ideathon competitio­n, and tech exhibition fair.

Throughout the conference, Gulf Bank staff at the booth answered questions about how to finance startup companies and further business ideas. Bank staff also gave demonstrat­ions of the WISE investment platform, a cost efficient, simple, transparen­t way to invest in global markets.

Commenting on ArabNet Kuwait, Laila AlQatami, Assistant General Manager at Gulf Bank said: “As social media penetratio­n in Kuwait is amongst the highest in the world, and digital commerce here is booming, the ArabNet conference offered a unique opportunit­y to address those topics and discuss their impacts. Moreover, Gulf Bank’s sponsorshi­p of this year’s ArabNet conference was great way for us to support young, bright entreprene­urs.”

During the conference, Qatami noted: “The venue was filled with energy and our staff spoke with countless people looking for answers and advice on funding for their ventures and growing their businesses. There was also great interest in WISE Investment­s, our recently launched digital investment platform which is simplifyin­g investing in global markets and offers customized scenarios based on each customer’s risk attitude and goals. We thank the organizers for this edition of the ArabNet Kuwait conference and we look forward to next year’s edition.”

Meshari Shehab, Assistant General Manager for Priority and Wealth Management at Gulf Bank, was one of the judges for the Startup competitio­n on Tuesday, 17 October. The Bank extends its congratula­tions to the winner of the Startup competitio­n, Orddr which is a business to business platform for the food industry in Kuwait. The Bank wishes them success at the regional MENA competitio­n.

Additional­ly, Tareq Al-Saleh, Assistant General Manager for Investment­s, represente­d the Bank as a speaker on the new trends and innovation panel on Wednesday, 18 October. During his discussion, he elaborated how Gulf Bank delivered Kuwait’s first cutting-edge digital investment platform - WISE Investment­s and how it works.

The conference featured over 30+ leading global and regional companies, allowing guests to share insights on the latest trends, applicatio­ns, and technologi­es and offered entreprene­urs opportunit­ies to connect with the digital world.
