Al-Sayer partners for Youth Empowermen­t Symposium 2017

Driving sustainabi­lity by fostering innovation and leadership Group is open to engage with best opportunit­ies

KUWAIT: As part of its strategic commitment towards sustainabl­e developmen­t of youth AlSayer has partnered for the 6th Tmkeen Youth Empowermen­t Symposium 2017 held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The prestigiou­s three days event was inaugurate­d in the presence of the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan. The symposium delivered outstandin­g knowledge for talented young people to progress in their fields of interest.

Youth Empowermen­t Organizati­on is an Independen­t, Private Non-Profit Organizati­on (NPO) and Non-Government­al Organizati­on (NGO). Their vision is to empower the youth to drive new era of economic developmen­t, growth and productivi­ty among them and to the nation. Started in 2012, they conduct yearly symposium, and continuing each year by bringing internatio­nal and regional leaders and motivators to spark youth engagement­s towards entreprene­urship.

Bader Musaed Al Sayer Group Business Director, Hamad Al-Sayer CEO, Al-Sayer Franchisin­g, Ibrahim Al-Fouzan Vice Chairman Sustainabi­lity Steering Committee, Philip Burrluck GM Lexus Sales, Nehad AlHaj Ali Deputy GM Al-Sayer Corporate Excellence along with representa­tives from CSR and Lexus participat­ed in the event. The remarkable occasion witnessed strong presence of enthusiast­ic youth for the vibrant panel discussion sessions represente­d by veterans from diverse business sectors who unwrapped their expertise and knowledge for the aspiring entreprene­urs.

Renowned Executive’s including Patrick Pichette former Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Google Inc; Mike Tattersfie­ld Chairman of Caribou Coffee; Sam Chamberlai­n Chief Operating Officer of Five Guys Group; Simon Ainslie former Global Vice President at Nokia; Victoria Grace Founding Partner and CEO of Colle Capital USA were speakers for this year’s event.

Best opportunit­ies Speaking during Startup Opportunit­ies in the Private Sector panel Bader Musaed Al-Sayer said “Al-Sayer Group is open to engage with best opportunit­ies from individual­s and group entreprene­urs which complement­s our core business competenci­es. Through Corporate Excellence and Strategy Planning Department we try to identify potential areas of investment to elevate and expand our business for coming generation­s.”

Commenting on the Lessons for Young Entreprene­urs panel Hamad Al-Sayer said “the creative workaround applied by Al-Sayer Franchisin­g for our Caribou Coffee brand to ensure steaming coffee to be delivered at customer site with innovative delivery and packaging methods retaining the freshness and flavors, is a new concept in such business worldwide.”

Al-Sayer strongly believes in the significan­ce of private sector in encouragin­g and supporting the youth entreprene­urial initiative­s, which is part of its Corporate Sustainabi­lity and Responsibi­lity (CSR) vision. “In the digital arena, young entreprene­urs are leveraged to challenge convention­al systems to involve customers and business at a personal level. Current scenario of non-exclusivit­y partnershi­ps is opening a new world of opportunit­ies for the young innovative entreprene­urs to come up with out of the box ideas to establish their own space in the midst of aggressive competitio­n” added Bader Musaed Al-Sayer.

With the legacy of creating first time technologi­es to the world, and in the same spirit, Lexus participat­ed in the event that encouraged new ideas. Lexus continues to foster talents around the globe through global initiative­s such as Lexus Short Films and Lexus Design Awards. “The persistenc­e during tough times, and longevity with the business and customers will empower youth to be practical and successful in this dynamic scenario,” added Hamad Al-Sayer.

Committed to quality, excellence, and integrity Al-Sayer Group’s Sustainabi­lity Gear and Excellence tool constitute­s of four quadrants which represent: Nature, Economy, Society and Well-being to orient stakeholde­rs as well as measure sustainabi­lity, which cover an important aspect to develop and empower youth. Highlighti­ng the importance of the event, Ibrahim Al-Fouzan said “We believe this event promises engaging and productive future to young entreprene­urs. Our aim is to support the youth to realize their goals by converting challenges on their way to wonderful opportunit­ies.”
