Man arrested for using late father’s POA in forgery

KUWAIT: A citizen was arrested for using a power of attorney (POA) his father gave him before his death and renewed a domestic helper’s residency, claiming his father was abroad. The man was charged with forgery.

Crackdown

Mubarak Al-Kabeer general cleanlines­s department’s director Melfi Al-Houli said a campaign resulted in issuing 16 citations while spoilt fruits and vegetables were destroyed.

Harassment

Two Egyptian teachers took advantage of crowds and came close to a female citizen and a child in clear instances of harassment, so they were arrested and ordered deported by assistant undersecre­tary for general security Maj Gen Ibrahim Al-Tarrah.

Thieves market

Farwaniya police arrested the Bangladesh­i leader of a vendors’ mafia at the “thieves market” in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. The suspect used to ‘rent’ out hawking areas to vendors. Legal procedures are being taken to deport him from the country. The “thieves market” in Jleeb is full of sellers of vegetables and stolen material, and posed a major worry for police. So a plan was made to keep the market under surveillan­ce. Based on a tip, the task force went there and arrested the suspect, who attempted to flee. The other hawkers at the place ran away.

Teen in trouble

Security guards at a mall brought a juvenile to the police station after he fought with an environmen­t policeman for smoking and refusing to stub out the cigarette. The policeman noticed a man smoking in the mall, which is a violation of the new environmen­t law, so he approached him and asked him to stop, but he refused, got angry and started a fight. Guards caught the smoker and took him to the police station.

Policeman offended

A Syrian woman insulted police in Salmiya after she was found without an ID. When police asked her for her ID, she told them she did not have any and refused to board the patrol car. She was forced in and taken to the police station.
