Embassy hosts ‘Italian Week’
KUWAIT: The Italian Embassy in Kuwait is holding the second edition of the “Italian Week” (Settimana Italiana) from Nov 11-19, 2017, and held a press conference yesterday to announce the various activities of this event. “The success of the first edition of Italian Week, held in 2016, convinced us to repeat this initiative by turning it into an annual event in order to allow our Kuwaiti friends to expand their knowledge of Italy and its excellences,” said Italian Ambassador to Kuwait
Giuseppe Scognamiglio.
“There are always a lot of things that can be discovered about Italy. We have a long history of 8,000 years in culture and food. When you visit
Italy, you have the opportunity to visit a thousand countries at the same time,” he added.
Italian Week includes various activities that will take place at different locations. “The program includes a variety of activities, ranging from music to figurative arts, gastronomy, fashion, technology, the promotion of ‘Made by Italy’, fitness, wonders of our car industry and many others,” he said. Scognamiglio also thanked the sponsors of the event.
Fayez Al-Anezi, Public Relations and Media Director of Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC), said the relationship between KAC and Italy goes back to 1969. “We started operating to Rome in 1969. We consider the Italian Week an important event with many interesting activities, and it deserves to have KAC as its official carrier for the guests of this event,” he noted. “We will be offering a five percent discount on the market price of tickets during the event. There are four flights from Kuwait to Rome every week on Airbus 330s, offering 212 seats in three classes - business, first and economy. The relationship between KAC and Italy is very strong, whether with the civil aviation in Italy or the Italian embassy in Kuwait. We wish this event a lot of success,” stressed Anezi.
