Paloma Faith’s wardrobe costs a total of £20

-

The 36-year-old singer has admitted she “loves clothes” but she rarely forks out fortunes on trendy pieces because she prefers more vintage garments that come with a lower price tag. Speaking to Stylist magazine, the ‘Can’t Rely On You’ hitmaker said: “I love clothes - we all know that. But actually most of my wardrobe costs £20 because it’s vintage.” And the artist has revealed she “never” buys products from luxury labels because she knows she can simply “borrow” the garment she has her eyes on straight from the fashion house. She added: “And I never really buy designer clothes because I can borrow them.” Paloma has hinted she has never been materialistic, even as a child. She said: “According to my mum, I was never that bothered by actual stuff. I’ve got a tape player at home that I used to record my voice on as a kid and in one tape my mum says, ‘What do you want for Christmas?’ I’m about five years old. And I say, ‘Nothing.’ I really meant it. “I think my mum used to feed my imagination so much, I didn’t want for things.” And Paloma - who gave birth to her first child in December last year with her French partner Leyman Lahcine - has admitted she prefers to “splash out” on memorable experiences or holidays instead. She explained: “I tend to splash out on experiences. I tend to splash out on experiences. I could never justify spending £600 on a pair of shoes but on the other hand I’ve been to the Maldives. To me that was the height of luxury, although I did get half of it subsidised for some Twitter action.”
