KUWAIT: National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) Public Relations team launched recently a fun activity program for children at NBK’s Children Specialty Hospital and Stem Cell Therapy Unit, as part of its social responsibility towards children and keenness to support them while they get their treatment.

The program extends all over the year and includes a library corner, storytelling sessions, fun events and a movie night activity that are organized occasionally. Children at the hospital will have the chance to choose their favorite story to read or a cartoon movie to watch with their family and friends. NBK has provided a display screen, entertainment facilities, variety of different and various books and other supplies for children to enjoy the whole program.

“NBK has always considered supporting the children an essential part of its social and philanthropic outreach,” said Manal Al-Mattar, NBK Public Relations Assistant General Manager. “We take great pride in celebrating and sharing happy moments with our children at NBK’s Children Specialty Hospital.”

Mattar added: “Since its establishment, NBK has undertaken several initiatives to support children, including the establishment of NBK’s Hospital and the new Stem Cell Therapy Unit at Al Sabah Medical Area, which provides medical care to sick children.”

As part of this program, NBK family organized recently a visit to Disney characters, Jamoul and many others to the hospital, to walk around the wards and play areas, where they shared the children memorable moments and a day filled with activities.

Also, a doctoral committee from the hospital will choose the best performing nurse every month to be honored by NBK, as part of this annual program that aims at encouraging team work and dedication.

“My Message” initiative is another activity that gathers doctors, healthcare professionals, nurses and workers at NBK Specialty Hospital where they shared and expressed their role and main goals towards children on both medical and psychological levels.

NBK’s initiative reflects the bank’s high sense of duty and responsibility towards the community and helping those in need. It is a well rooted tradition that has been carried out by NBK each year in its efforts to continuously have an active role in Kuwait’s society.

It is worth mentioning that NBK’s Stem Cell Therapy Unit is the first children’s bone marrow transplant center in Kuwait. The new center is the largest corporate social responsibility donation in Kuwait and will expand the hospital’s ability to treat children with cancer and blood diseases.
