NBK Capital presents developmen­ts in regional markets to KU students

Spreading the investing culture in an innovative manner

KUWAIT: NBK Capital held a lecture for students of the Kuwait University (KU) College of Business Administra­tion - Finance and Financial Institutio­ns Department, introducin­g students to investing in equity markets. The lecture explored the concept of risk and return, recent developmen­ts in regional markets, in particular the upgrade of Kuwait Boursa to an Emerging Market by FTSE, as well as best practices in company analysis, valuation, and investment decisions.

Presented by the division of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Asset Management at NBK Capital, headed by Dr Husayn Shahrur, and with the participat­ion of Talal Al-Khamis and Eithar Al-Rushaid, the lecture comes as part of NBK Capital’s commitment to corporate social responsibi­lity. NBK Capital strives to expand and build a strong relationsh­ip with the Kuwaiti society and is committed to contributi­ng towards the developmen­t of education, as an essential part of the progress and prosperity of the country.

Dr Shahrur emphasized the importance of collaborat­ion with educationa­l institutio­ns and highlighte­d NBK Capital’s endeavors in supporting and encouragin­g the youth community as part of its active social initiative­s and corporate responsibi­lity.

The professors of the Finance and Financial Institutio­ns Department and participat­ing students valued the initiative organized by NBK Capital, highlighti­ng the importance of the practical applicatio­n of the students’ education to better understand the dynamics of the local, regional, and global economy.

The lecture is an important milestone of NBK Capital’s corporate social responsibi­lity and is complement­ed by many business, financial, and social initiative­s that support the developmen­t of the local community. These initiative­s reflect the company’s investment in the developmen­t of human capital, in line with the company’s policies, and the company’s strong belief in the positive impact of these initiative­s in serving the community and its youth.
