KIB welcomes students for ‘Day as a Banker’ initiative
KUWAIT: Following the great success of its previous ‘Day as a Banker’ initiatives which saw the bank host students from various schools across Kuwait, Kuwait International Bank (KIB) recently welcomed students from the Nasiba Bint Kaab Middle School for Girls at its Head Office Branch. This initiative aimed at introducing students to the world of banking and the many different roles and functions within a bank.
The ‘Day as a Banker’ initiative provided students with a unique opportunity to spend an entire day at a branch and experience firsthand the life of a banker, by allowing them to carry out several roles and tasks within the branch, including serving as tellers and greeters. During the visit, KIB staff provided students with a basic overview of the fundamentals of Islamic banking and presented them with the chance to practically apply their newly-learned saving skills.
Speaking about this visit, Corporate Communications Team Leader at KIB, Fahad Al-Sarhan, commented: “KIB is keen on organizing numerous and varied initiatives that engage directly with the local community’s youth, aiming at promoting greater financial literacy and enhanced economic awareness amongst the younger generations. Through this initiative, we aim at providing students with an educational experience that develops their financial knowledge, taps into their potential, and encourages them to pursue a career in the banking sector.”
Throughout the year, KIB organizes several visits to schools and hosts students from areas all over Kuwait. In doing so, the Bank hopes to build a more financially conscious future generation. One of the first-of-its-kind programs, KIB’s financial literacy program aims at promoting economic awareness across all segments of the local community. Focusing primarily on youth, the program seeks to instill basic values of saving and good money management.
