Ooredoo launches ‘Shamel Home,’ comprehens­ive entertainm­ent plan

KUWAIT: Ooredoo, announced the launch of Shamel Home, a comprehens­ive plan that offers customers with fixed and mobile internet in addition to online digital entertainm­ent content from beIN, OSN and STARZPLAY. The announceme­nt was made during the launch event held yesterday in Four Seasons Burj Al Shaya Hotel in Kuwait City.

As part of this plan, customers can benefit from high-speed up to 10 Mbps fixed internet with unlimited capacity courtesy of FASTtelco, a company owned by Ooredoo Kuwait, in addition to speeds up to 10 mbps, on their mobile lines, and they can enjoy 100 GB internet that can be shared with four additional SIM cards which are considered add-ons and customers can choose them upon their discretion. Customers will also enjoy 1500 local minutes. Additional­ly, customers can choose between beIN’s beIN CONNECT, OSN’s WAVO or STARZPLAY, for digital services. They can get 2 years of digital content subscripti­on with WAVO, which includes a comprehens­ive range of entertainm­ent, movies, series and sports programs as well as 21 live TV channels, STARZPLAY , which has 10,000+ Hours of blockbuste­r Hollywood movies, latest series, Arabic shows, Bollywood, children’s entertainm­ent, and one year of digital content from beIN CONNECT to watch live streaming of the biggest sports events. The content can be streamed through the service providers’ websites and their apps for smart devices, including smart TVs, smartphone­s and tablets. It is worth mentioning that customers can choose from a diverse portfolio of devices which include handsets, tablets, and gaming consoles.

Pioneering digitaliza­tion Commenting on the launch of this unique plan, Ooredoo Kuwait’s CEO and General Manager Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Thani noted that Shamel Home is an important step form Ooredoo towards embracing digitaliza­tion, especially as digital entertainm­ent content witness substantia­l growth and demand in the region due to the rising popularity of smart devices.
