Amir receives Turkish Parliament Speaker
Kuwait, Turkey eye closer parliamentary ties
KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received yesterday at Seif Palace National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanem, who was accompanied by the visiting Turkish Parliament Speaker Ismail Kahraman and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah and head of the accompanying Mission of Honor MP Abdullah Fahhad Al-Enezi.
Ghanem held a meeting later with his Turkish counterpart, during which they reviewed relations between Kuwait and Turkey and ways of promoting and developing them in various fields, mainly the parliamentary domain, as well as the latest regional and international developments.
The talks were attended by a host of Kuwaiti members of parliament and the Turkish guest’s accompanying delegation. Following the talks, Ghanem held a luncheon banquet in honor of the Turkish parliamentary delegation members who arrived in Kuwait on Saturday on a two-day official visit. Kahraman also met with His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah yesterday.
Earlier yesterday, His Highness the Amir received His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Ghanem, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Meanwhile, His Highness the Crown Prince received Ghanem, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak, Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh.
In other news, His Highness the Crown Prince is set to patronize today the 24th edition of Awqaf Forum themed ‘charity work growth of international relations.’ Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Fahd Mohammad Mohsen Al-Afasi will attend the event on the behalf of His Highness the Crown Prince.
