NBK organizes events for kids at NBK’s Specialty Hospital and Stem Cell Unit

-

Continuing its monthly activities at the Children’s Specialty Hospital and the Stem Cell Therapy Unit, National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) carried out “My Creative Meal” and “winter cookies” events to support children while they get their treatment. The two initiatives come as part of a fun activity program that extends all year long and includes a library, a reading corner, storytelling sessions, activities for the medical staff such as the “nurse of the month”, interactive expression day, fun events and a movie night activity that are organized occasionally.

These activities gave the children the opportunity to create their breakfast in a healthy exciting way and to encourage the children to enjoy eating healthy food. Each kid created his own meal and designed his cookies. Doctors and nurses participated in both events and shared happy moments with their young patients. Also, a doctoral committee from the hospital chose the best performing nurse for the month of December to be honored by NBK, as part of this annual program that aims at encouraging team work and dedication. The fun activity program is a part of NBK’s social responsibility towards children and keenness to support them while they get their treatment. NBK has provided a display screen, entertainment facilities, variety of different and various books and other supplies for children to enjoy the whole program.

NBK’s initiative reflects the bank’s high sense of duty and responsibility towards the community and helping those in need. It is a well rooted tradition that has been carried out by NBK each year in its efforts to continuously have an active role in Kuwait`s society. It’s worth mentioning that NBK’s Stem Cell Therapy Unit is the first children’s bone marrow transplant center in Kuwait. The new center is the largest corporate social responsibility donation in Kuwait and will expand the hospital’s ability to treat children with cancer and blood diseases.
