Horeca Kuwait 2018 witnesses various activities on second day

KUWAIT: The activities of Horeca Kuwait 2018 exhibition continued for a second day yesterday inside Hall 8 at the Kuwait Internatio­nal Fairground­s in Mishref, where huge numbers of specialize­d visitors showed up. Furthermor­e, a large number of people visited pavilions of participat­ing companies which specialize in hospitalit­y, food industries and hotel equipment.

The second day of the exhibition witnessed new activities held for the first time since Horeca Kuwait’s inception seven years ago. The activities included a one-hour symposium organized by a team from Boecker Internatio­nal for Food Safety and Quality on the solutions the company presents to restaurant­s, hotels and food industry companies to ensure food safety. The symposium was presented by Boecker’s administra­tive associate Abraham Hilal.

Notably, Boecker provides quality health services in various Middle Eastern countries including Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Boecker services match the ISO 9001:2008 specificat­ions. The company is also registered with local authoritie­s and is a member in the Chartered Institute of Environmen­tal Health (CIEH).

In this regard, Leaders Group Company for Consultanc­ies and Developmen­t, which organizes the exhibition jointly with the Lebanese Hospitalit­y Services Company, said that such symposiums were held for the first time, and stressed that they meet both sponsors and participan­ts’ needs. The first day of the exhibition witnessed another symposium on the effect of food blogs on restaurant projects in general, which was moderated by Iqbal Al-Haddad, American University of the Middle East (AUM) Professor and Deputy Chairperso­n of the Internatio­nal Advertisin­g Associatio­n, and featured Dntsu Aegis Fuse CEO Kareem Beitar, OMADIA’s Deputy Director Mohammed Suwaidan and the MLA’s Senior Chef Tareq Ibrahim.

The first day also witnessed a display by a commercial team from South Africa sponsored by the country’s embassy in Kuwait. Furthermor­e, it included open competitio­ns and discussion of trade and investment in the food sector. The first day’s evening also witnessed further competitio­ns after which the winners were awarded.
