AI and the future of mobile intelligence

-

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the way both businesses and individuals function. The ability to process, leverage, and learn from big data means machines are becoming more powerful in the one area they could not compete with humans: they can now think, and faster. Huawei views this as an important turning point and a shift from the smart to the intelligence revolution.

The spirit of Huawei Mate 10 series is built on that very concept - to create innovative devices that help make the lives of our consumers easier. As Huawei continues to drive the new era of ‘intelligent technology’, all eyes are on Huawei for the upcoming Mobile World Congress where Huawei Mate 10 Pro is shortlisted for the Best Smartphone category at the Global Mobile Awards 2018.

Today’s users need technology to be more humane, transparent and rapid, which is why the core of Huawei devices revolve around intelligent power, intelligent speed and intelligent camera. A phone that adapts to a user’s behavior and needs, from auto-adjusting camera settings to optimizing battery usage, for example, is just the start.

AI-powered phones like Huawei Mate 10 series means that app developers can now capitalize on the power of Huawei’s Kirin 970chipset - a mobile artificial intelligence computing platform that runs on a Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which performs 25 times more with 50 times more efficiency. New gamechanging AI apps could potentially replace the entire generation of apps we currently use with intelligent apps. Huawei the Kirin processor will play an instrumental role in the intelligence revolution.

The Mate 10 Series is also a giant technological leap with the introduction of artificial intelligence into the camera. This milestone is helping shift traditional photography to smart photography with an intelligent camera that can recognizes scenes and objects and adjust parameters to produce gallerylike pictures.

Meanwhile, Huawei has also developed battery management feature with the AI just to extend the battery life even further, although Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro already have a gigantic 4000mah battery and 22.5W SuperCharge. AI helps extend battery life by learning user habits, which are categorized into four groups - gaming, business, travelling and taking photos, and under each group, there are 14 labels for different scenarios. After mapping the user habits according to these labels and groups, the phone will generate a customized plan to save power. Huawei Mate 10 Series is certainly setting new benchmarks in the era of AI and transforming the future of smartphones.
