IWG revisits Naif Palace
The Governor of the Capital Governorate, Retired Lieutenant General, extended an invitation to IWG for the second time to visit Naif Palace. This was among the celebrations of the Governorate with the National Day of State of Kuwait and the glorious liberation of Kuwait, and the ruling of His Highness the Amir took over the government for the twelfth year. The members of the International Women’s Group were represented by ambassadors’ wives and diplomats accredited to Kuwait.
The visit was very distinctive with its program and showed the history of the State of Kuwait through the history of this edifice, which was taken by ruling and rulers of Kuwait, which was built between 1919/1920. This was reflected through the paintings that tell this history of Kuwait. It also contained the Kuwaiti revolution, and the presentation of the social, craftsman and professional life of the people of Kuwait and the presentation of the facilities of Naif Palace in the beautiful past. There was a show of how Kuwaiti women distinguished themselves with the customs, traditions and hospitality of Kuwait and the means they took to preserve and celebrate that heritage. There was also a display of old cars from one of Kuwait’s best known car collectors. The members of the group enjoyed the program and the outstanding show of the history, heritage, customs and traditions that are the basis of civilization and identity of developed societies.
