Ooredoo sponsors ‘Successful Kuwaiti Talent’ Conference
KUWAIT: Ooredoo Kuwait concluded its sponsorship of the Successful Kuwaiti Talent Conference, which was organized by the Arab Planning Institute and MILSET (the International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology), the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs, and the Australian College of Kuwait. The two-day conference took place on Monday and Tuesday last week at the headquarters of the Arab Planning Institute and the Australian College of Kuwait.
The conference was attended by a number of international and local entities and organizations that are focused on youth, education and sciences, such as the MILSET Middle East, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, and LoYAC among other organizations. The event saw attendance of hundreds of youth interested in entrepreneurship and initiatives focused on science, technology and education. The event also included an awarding ceremony for a number of influential educators and even sponsors, in addition to an exhibition for entities and organizations that have youth-focused programs and activities. Commenting on this, Ooredoo Kuwait’s Corporate Communications Senior Director Mijbil Al-Ayoub underscored the company’s commitment to supporting youth, noting that this comes in tandem from the company’s deep-rooted values of caring, connecting and challenging.
Additionally, the company is eager to support initiatives that encourage embracing digitalization as a lifestyle. He added, “We are proud to partner with distinguished local and international organizations in providing such rich content to the attendees of the conference, aiming to pique their interest and satisfy their curious minds on topics related to sciences and technology with such opportunities. We at Ooredoo Kuwait strongly believe that by investing in youth today, we will be able to create a dynamic generation that can positively impact the future of our country.”
On his part, Arab Planning Institute Consultant and the organizer of the conference Dr. Fahad Al-Fadhalah noted that the goals of this conference are aligned with the wishes of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who urged all entities to support youth and provide them with opportunities in shaping the future. He extended his gratitude to the sponsors of this event for their support. Activities of Monday, the first day of the conference, which took place in the Arab Planning Institute, included a special awarding ceremony for a number of distinguished former ministers of education, honoring their efforts in nourishing youth’s interest in sciences and technology. This included former ministers of education Dr Musaed AlHaroon, Dr Rasheed Al-Hamad, Nouriyah Al-Sabeeh and Abdulaziz Al-Jarallah.
Monday’s activities also included two discussion panels: the first highlighted the development of science and technology and its role in the life of youth, and was presented by Dr Abdullah Al-Mutawa - Kuwait University’s College of Engineering; Idris Al-Waradi from MILSET, and Mustafa Akkawi from the International Academy for Building Capacity. The second day featured Kuwaiti entrepreneurs Ghanim Al-Otaibi, Fatami Al-Attar, Ali Al-Fadala, who showcased their projects and discussed at length the challenges and obstacles they have faced in establishing their projects.
The second day of the conference, which took place in the Australian College of Kuwait, featured two panels. The first panel focused on entrepreneurship, and included entrepreneurs Mohammad Al-Rifaie, Ali Al-Wazzan, Mohammad Al-Musallam and Raghad Al-Musallam. The second panel focused on humanitarian and social-oriented projects, and was led by byAthari Ismaiel, Jassim Al-Jassim and Saad AlMuhteb. The conference concluded its activities on the second day with an open discussion on the policies that can potentially support entrepreneurship and youth projects. Ooredoo works year-round in collaboration with different entities to support youth and enrich their experience.
