KIB concludes its Ramadan campaign, wishing everyone a blessed Eid Al-Fitr
KUWAIT: With the conclusion of Ramadan, Kuwait International Bank (KIB) concluded its Ramadan campaign for this year, which was launched at the beginning of the holy month under its new slogan ‘Bank for Life’. As always, the campaign featured a host of various activities and social events for the bank’s customers, employees as well as all segments of the local community. The campaign came as part of the bank’s leading role as a national financial institution, committed to being a partner in every aspect of people’s lives.
On this occasion, Manager of the Corporate Communications Unit at KIB, Nawaf Najia, lauded the diverse number of initiatives within the bank’s Ramadan campaign, which reflect its active role in promoting social unity and upholding deeply-cherished societal values heldduring this holy month.
With the start of Ramadan, KIB kicked off the holy month by distributing its Ramadan calendar timings as a gift to its customers at its head office and at branches across the country. The bank also launched its annual ‘Mashla’ initiative to provide essential food supplies to needy families in Kuwait throughout the holy month of Ramadan. A team of dedicated volunteers from KIB, as well as volunteers from Hassad Group helped prepare and deliver the food packages. As has become its annual custom, KIB also launched its annual iftar meal initiative for those fasting during Ramadan. The iftar meals consisted of nutritious, complete daily meals, which continued to be distributed throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.
This year’s Ramadan campaign included an abundance of community-based initiatives and activities that reflected long-held traditions and customs. KIB organized a one-of-a-kind girgian event at The Avenues. The event featured a pool of candy where participants were tied and suspended above then lowered into the pool to collect as much candy as they can in a fun-filled way.
Additionally, the bank organized visits to the elderly care center and the Kuwait Orphanage, both community care centers under the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. KIB also organized a visit to the children’s department at Farwaniya Hospital on the occasion of girgian to spread joy and happiness amongst them.
As per its ongoing commitment, KIB also continued to support youth and sports activities throughout Ramadan. Accordingly, the bank participated in a number of annual sports activities and programs, including the late Jassim Al-Sharhan Ramadan annual football tournament and Al-Qattan football tournament. Additionally, KIB sponsored and participated with a team of notable international and local athletes in AlRoudhan Tournament, who competed for first place. This Ramadan, KIB also organized the 8th Ramadan Football Tournament for its staff.
As part of its leading role in fostering strong religious values across different segments of the local community, KIB organized the annual Ramadan Quran competition for children of the bank’s customers, as well as employees and their children. This year’s Ramadan Quran competition was divided into four categories based on participants’ ages. Of which, three categories were dedicated to children of employees and customers. Participants born in 2010 and later were required to memorize surat Al-Fajr, surat Al-Balad and surat Al-Shams. Those born in 2006 and later were required to memorize surat Tabarak and surat AlQiyama. As for the third category, participants born in 2002 and later were required to memorize surat AlRahman and surat Qaf, whereas the fourth category was dedicated to employees and required them to memorize surat Al-Fath. The competition winners were honored at a ceremony, in the presence of the Chairman, Sheikh Mohammed Jarrah Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Acting Chief Executive
Officer Mohamed Said El Saka.
As the last days of the holy month of Ramadan rolled in, and on the occasion of Eid, KIB concluded its Ramadan program with the distribution of vouchers to families in need across Kuwait. The initiative aimed at sharing the joy of Eid with the needy by spreading the spirit of celebration and happiness amongst them.
Najia concluded by saying that, as part of its commitment towards promoting religious values and principles,
KIB believes in the importance of carrying out these Ramadan activities during the holy month. Accordingly, KIB continues to launch its annual Ramadan campaign, dedicating it to initiatives and activities that aim at strengthening social ties and the virtue of giving across the community.
